-- Pearls of Wisdom from HS5K --
I thought I would share two of my own pearls of wisdom. I hope you all like them. These are both my own creation. I usually try to come up with one each week for the Youth Group I teach. Sometimes they’re funny, sometimes they aren’t so good. These two are two of my favorites. If you have any pearls of wisdom then please share.
-- On Faith --
Lets say I tell you there is 100 dollars in a pitch-dark room. Now you can’t see the 100 dollars, so how could you know it was actually there or not? Well there is only one way to find out: go on in and search for it. This is faith. It is reaching out into the unknown to see if it is true. A lot of people want the facts first before trying anything, they want proof that it is ok before they go, but it is the adventures that brave the unknown who ever discover anything worth discovering. See, faith is not irrational, it is simply saying, "This might be true therefore I'm going to go see if it is," instead of saying, "That isn't true and I'm never going to go see if it is."
-- On Knowing Jesus --
Say I am drinking a bottle of coke and you have never drunk coke in your life. You ask me what the coke is like. I explain to you that it is fizzy. But you don’t understand what fizzy means because you have never tried it. So the only way for you to find out what fizz is like is to try it. Can I prove it to you any other way? Knowing Jesus is the same way. Having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is unlike anything else on this earth and until you enter into that relationship for yourself you will never know the joy it brings. And what a wonderful joy it is! For there is nothing better then knowing you have a faithful friend and savior who is always there for you, always looking out for you, always thinks the world of you, and always loves you. He is the ultimate cure to any self-esteem problems. Do you know Jesus?
God Bless
