something I noticed...

So I went to read through my Bible last night, which I've been trying to read a bit at least this week since before that I haven't in quite a few months^^ Anyhow, I'm pretty chronological when it comes to reading through it (unless it's for a specific Bible study etc.) but being in Proverbs, which has a lot of good stuff in it, I noticed something: 2 verses in it that are IDENTICAL, repeated twice!

Proverbs 14:12 and 16:25 both have the exact same wording. I highlighted it the first time because I thought it was a great and VERY true verse. But to be repeated twice by Solomon, must be pretty important^^ And the verse is (in the wording of my NASB):

"There is a way which seems right to a man,
But in the end is the way of death."

The first time I read it through I think was the day I was talking to my dad about some stuff. He's an unbeliever and after mentioning on how he purchaused a certain book, did he say that "there are many theories out here". He tends to watch a lot of those documentaries that dig into the past and most of the time refute a lot of what's said in the Bible :/ Then he mentioned how his fiance has "her own religion, but never talks about it", whatever it may be^^ But this scripture reminded me of it...

Which seems italized in my version, for most unbelievers, it's pretty true^^ But of course, there is only One Way. This is at least how interpreted it, but I'm sure it can go many different ways^^

sweet ^_^ I definitely noticed that verse before (though not knowing it was repeated!)...and I think you can find that in many places in the Bible reading through other passages, as well. People think they don't need God or thinking He's not there, and some variation of the two, so they go their own way, which undoubtedly leads to death.

I think this verse can apply to Christians as well. Or at very least the concept. We can get so wrapped up in our own way of thinking sometimes that God can have trouble getting a word in and the result is destructive. I think that's been true in my life anyhow. I'm so glad that God works in spite of us, though. Good thoughts. Thanks for sharing.
