But still...that picture and caption...just funness...

Weeellll since I already made the Nano goal I'm just going to post how many words I have total XD. So far, 62,356. I just hit a really big part of my story... and I gues that's why I've written almost 20 pages today... XD I even introduced a new fun character! 8D

I want to print off what I have but then I look at the amount of pages I have so my sister can read them over thanksgiving break. (she's my go-too for GOOD books and I want to know what she thinks of mine XD) But my printer is out of inkage :/

I'm thinking of bopping around different computer labs tomorrow and printing off several pages at a time BWHAHA! Yaaay for free printings. XD

I'll be back into things tomorrow. Tonight, I need to spend time shoring up my flank.

I will be writing tonight. I just have to wait for the parents to go to bed so I have free reign.

God has given me a clear head, and wind in my sails. And I will write until my brains go numb.

UPDATE: from 11,507 to 12,620 in 1.5 hours (12:42AM). 1,113 words. This gets me past the student disciplinary court-style stuff and onto the meeting of the minds for the major preparation of "The Great Beatdown".

I will point out that I've written over 30,000 words this month. However, most of those have been spread out over multiple stories (when I get writer's block in one, I switch to another). So my NaNoWriMo count is still only at, like, 2,000.

20,165. I got through the end of the fight scene, the scene where Lanie pulls herself back home after being nearly beaten to death, the scene where she suffers a mental breakdown and a split in her personality (who is evil and happens to be a demonic spirit), the transformation into her split personality, and a school scene that has the main male character throwing his guts up and the 1st female secondary character getting threatened with death if she ever hurts Lanie again.

My stories are complicated, yes. But they are good.

Well, I am rapidly losing the motivation to even trying winning this month... I'm slightly under the halfway point with one week left to go, and almost no free time until Thanksgiving break starts. Remind me not to take any math next fall - I blame all my math homework. >_< I might be able to finish after break starts, if I take two or three days and just write all day, but I am also very much feeling the pull of Final Fantasy VII... AAARGH why did I have to play that yesterday? I'm such an idiot. I was going to go a whole month without playing any video games, and with minimal reading an anime, because I knew it was going to distract me, and then I had to go and play FF VII - and I'm at one of the best parts too! I'm so stupid... somebody please give me a pep talk, or beat me into submission, or something, so I'll at least reach 50k, even if I don't finish this month. Please. XP

I'm in your boat too XD I'm not finished with mine either... 62,903 words and counting but I have school and SMC to focus on for now... so I'll pick it up again in a few days/weeks..

This semester (especially this past month) really took it out of me...but oh well, there is always next year.

Oh and congratulations to both of you.

November killed me, my story is nowhere near done. Maybe I can punch out a couple thousand more words before the ax falls, but that's it. I'm finished.

Congratulations to the rest of you though.

Congrats everyone! Yeah, I tried. I really did. I was going great for the first couple of weeks, but then I got killed by homework. I was going to make it up over Thanksgiving break, but I really didn't feel like spending my break working. Nonetheless, I feel good about the progress I made this month. I broke my record for the most I have written on a single story. Maybe I'll finish it up in a few months, do another "WriMo," or maybe not.

AAWESOME! I think it's great that you tried! I mean to write at all and to even try is what this is all about right?

Congrats on getting as far as you did! And here's to finishing your story!

Done!

Actually, I was done about nine hours ago, but I didn't post in this thread until now.

My story is, sadly enough, not finished... but that's okay. It gives me some more to write in the coming year. I'm going to take a break from this story for a while, though; I need to write something light-hearted for a change. XD

Anyway, congrats to all those who finished, and even to those who didn't! You still tried, and that's what counts. I think. Hope to see you all again next year, and happy writing!

And remember, for those of you who didn't finish: it was all a reality show taping.

I did not make 50,000. I didn't even make half that. I suffered through depression for 4 days, then elation/vacation/parental interference for 4 more days.

That, and I burned out on my story. Which means I need to go with the next one, and return to the original story when I finally get my strength back.

23,270 is the final count as of midnight.
Basically, I'll try again next year.

Congrats to everyone who made it this year and of course to everyone who participated. Like ChristianKitsune said; here’s hoping you are all able to finish your stories.

There are three people in my writting buddies list that have reached the 50 k goal...however only two of them are listed as winners. Temulin...out of curiosity, did you not verify that you had reached 50k on purpose or did you just forget? Either way I can't criticize you...the last 11 thousand words of my story were just pieces of old stories that I Frakensteined together into a really trippy dream sequence...and then I just stopped...

WOW! That's all amazing!!!

Congrats to everyone who participated in this event. It's amazing even if you just try. This is the first time I've heard about it, and unfortunately I'm a bit late - but hey, I'll definitely try to do it next year. (50K words isn't too much for me to do, since I often write excessively... but it's the original idea for a story that I'll have a hard time figuring out.) Huh... maybe I can even try to do it this month and give it to someone as a Christmas gift. ^^ A personal goal.

I think I am sort of inspired to write now. Hahaha. ^^ Anyway, congrats to everyone who participated... and I'll see y'all next year. XD

Peanut - No, that was intentional. Originally, I had meant to cheat by copy-pasting a pre-existing work into the word count to verify but after Ms. Ali Kennedy posted a notice about stolen art I got a little paranoid about putting anything into a weird net site that could easily be mined for ideas.

Are you going to continue your NaNo story or leave it to rot?

Well that's fine, however if you ever do want to confirm your victory and not risk losing your piece, the FAQ page (I think) gives instructions on how you can make it so no one can steal your manuscript. I tried it before hand and it does work quite well...

USSRGirl wrote:Are you going to continue your NaNo story or leave it to rot?

It's going to be preserved on my hard drive for a period of time, unfinished. Then next year I am going to take a scalpel to it and remove pieces I liked from it to craft a novel for next year based off of an idea I got while I attempted to write my novel this year. So it won't be completed however it will live on in the form of another novel.

Edit: Peanut would like to take this time to say that as of 10:02 AM eastern time he is officially done with his Hermenutics Paper which was one of the reasons he was unable to write 50,000 words for NaNoWrimo...

Congratulations to all of you. I just learned of NaNoWriMo this year, and considered participating. Unfortunately, due to birthdays, etc. November is the busiest month of the year for me. Nonetheless, your heroic efforts have inspired my inner muse. I thank you for that.
