Does anyone know about this? It's an encyclopedia on everything DN including a series summary, interviews with Obata and Ouba, four panel comics, the pilot chapter, character guide, and other cool stuff. Oh yeah, L's real name is revealed.
L Lawliet
I got it the other day. I'm still in the biographies section, but it's interesting so far. The four pannel comics were especially funny.

Also, it contains absolutely critical profile data, especially statistics:

Hey, look at Light's. He's got like over 9000 for everything.

There's also a character personality test. I'm Light, according to the test. Who are you?

I plan on getting it sometime soon. I'm assuming its the same price as a regular manga?

It's usually about $14-15, which is a few dollars more than a manga volume (assuming they're $9 like most).

As to the character test, I got Mello.

Oh, and sadly, Sachiko's housewife-ness became 'verbosity' in the english release. Alas... her housewife-ness had been truly awe inspiring.

Coincidentally, I just saw this today. Disappointing indeed. Motivation became "emotional strength" however, which I believe makes more sense with the various ratings given.

I know this is an attempt to drag out the popularity of Death Note and make more money, but I did enjoy flipping through the statistics. I found it interesting how no one had a maximum in the intelligence category, and Light and Near are the only ones to approach it.

I went and picked it up this Saturday and I'm very pleased with it. I'm particularly fond of the list of foods L can be seen eating throughout the manga.

With the personality test, I got Soichiro Yagami. I love how it says he's the only the character in the entire series who isn't insane/deranged/inhuman/all-around weird person. It did say, though, I could be taken advantage of easily.

Excellent book. I'd definitely recommend it to any Death Note fan.

Now just to collect volumes 8-12 and I'll be finished. :P
