I was browsing through manga in the store today and spotted a new series from TokyoPop called 'Trinity Blood' and was curious about it.

It looks like it's rated for Older Teens. And is about war between vampires and humans. The TokyoPop site for it is http://www.tokyopop.com/S-1694/1.html .

I was curious if anyone had read/heard more about this series, and what the thoughts about it were. Especially on religion in the series - it looks like a couple of the main characters are a nun and a priest sent by the Vatican to hunt vampires.

I've read the first volume and got through about half of the second before deciding to stop reading. It wasn't for religious reasons, as it dealt with the Christian aspects relatively little (though you should know that I'm not bothered by most anime in this respect, including ones much worse such as Hellsing). My problem was with the art and general writing style, both of which annoyed me to no end.

So far the anime seems to be the manga plot with additional filler.

yeah. i didn't know there was a manga but i know the anime's on adult swim and stuff. i'm not that big on mangas dealing with religious themes such as vampires and exorcists and such.

Thanks for your quick replies.

I did some looking and found a scanlation of it to check it out, and decided not to persue it any further. The plot didn't hold my attention, and the way the artist drew some things bothered me - eg. using SD type faces during serious moments. What I could gather of the religious elements didn't bother me.
