Naruto creator Masashi Komoto's twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is a manga artist as well. His manga, 666 Satan, is being released by Viz in December under a new name: O-Parts Hunter.

o-parts hunter...i sorta like the other name more for some reason but the title, 666 satan is definitely a misleading title.

I've been keeping up with this manga, but... eh. For a while I had hope that he would prove the title was more than for just exotic flavor and would show some real originality. But as we've finally learned more about his Kaballah, it has proven once again to be very like Naruto.

Of course, I realize that it is possible that both had the ideas simultaneously and only Masashi Kishimoto became successful immediately. But 666 Satan feels so much weaker to me overall that I'm inclined to believe he isn't a strong enough writer to break free from his brother's creative process.

yep yep yep. somehow, 666 satan holds more of a childish feel to it.

Recently he did a time skip. This isn't a problem in itself (it's hardly a copyrighted literary device, though perhaps it isn't too adviseable) but the series radically changes following the skip. It's as if the manga-ka decided that he didn't like what he had done and used the gap to reset a great many things. Cross is an excellent example of this. It also doesn't help that the author seems to be encouraging yaoi pairings (also like his brother, and similarly worse).

I kinda wondered what it was and if it was worth getting. thx for posting this. I'll probably just read it at Borders now. (Mashashi Kishimoto's brother, that's cool.) I love the Naruto style and when I saw the style for 666 satan i liked it, but the name and brief description deterred me.

I recommend browsing a few volumes. If you don't like it, don't bother pursuing the series; it isn't that incredible and doesn't have anything of notable literary value. But if you can enjoy it for what it is, there really isn't any of the objectionable religious content the original title seems to imply. Relatively low ratings in most other areas as well; nothing worse than Naruto.

yeah. that's why it's wise to plan out the entire story before starting it. or else it might go on and on and on and begin to lose the interest of its readers.
