What manga publisher do you like best?
Don't neccisarily base it on the books they put out, but look at quality of print, whether or not they keep honorrifics, etc...
Tokyopop
Viz Media
DC Comics - CMX
Dark Horse Manga
CPM Press
Del Rey
DrMaster

I voted for Del Rey and Viz. Everything that I've read from Viz (haha, all of two series) has been well done, and I don't think anyone surpasses Del Rey in quality translations (though they are seriously expensive...o_o).

I was torn between Tokyopop and Del Rey. Some of Del Rey’s books had a problem with the ink, it was coming off making it look faded.
So Tokyopop got my vote ^-^

Voted Tokyopop - they're fairly good with the honorifics and such, I've never had a problem with any books I've bought, and best of all, they keep their readers informed on release dates and they listen to fan feedback. They get mad props for that last one.

Viz's honorifics and translation for Monster is very accurate. So that's a plus.
And I Believe Darkhorse does as well. I only have one book from them, and that's Oldboy.

I've only heard of three of those publishers. How come ADV isn't up there?
But back on topic. If we're not going by series they put out, but the way they translate, then definitely Tokyopop. Viz is just cruel to some series'. *coughinuyashacough*

My vote goes to Viz. They offer manga at cheaper prices... But they fully overlay sfx. I like that ADV puts a caption under the sfx, but Tokyopop leaves you guessing at the sounds... Not to mention the shonen ai crazyness XD
Huh, I did forget ADV... oops.

I voted for Tokyopop. Even though I haven't read quite half of the publishers on the list, TP pretty much has a good consistency with their printing\translating. If would have voted ADV Manga if it had been on the list, but TP and those guys are pretty close as far as quality is concerned.

Viz
Tokyopop
Del Rey
Dark Horse
DC Comics
(I don't know the last two)
I like Viz's rating system better and sometimes they tell you what will be questionable in the front of the book. I also like the cheaper prices.

Tokyopop is mine. Their rating system is much better divided to me.

Tokyopop is my favorite company because they try to keep many of the Japanese concepts in their translations by glossing them in the back.

I have to go with Viz. I don't alway fall in love with their stories, but they choose good quality manga. They also include translation notes instead of leaving me hanging like Tokyopop. They also release faster and are cheaper. And their quality in production is equal pretty much to Del Ray. I think another one of my favorite publishers Go!Comi should be included in this poll as well. They put out very well produced manga.

Viz Media got my vote. ^^ They pretty much publish all my favortie manga. Tokyopop is okay, but most of their manga are OT for Older Teen, something I don't like. I brought an S-CRY-ed manga volume one time, thinking the OT rating was just a bluff.... man was I wrong.
It was definately NOT the TV show.

I wholeheartidly agree with you. The S-CRY-ed manga volume I brought didn't have any content warning. Also, Viz Media does seem to have relatively cheaper prices. ^^
