Has anybody else read it? I think its pretty good and kinda mind-blowing for being written so long ago. However, it deals too much with evolution, but it is a definate must-read in my opinion. Anybody else have anything to say about it?

*Squeal!*

I friggin' LOVE that manga! I also got the English version of "Phoenix: Dawn". I liked "Future" better, but both are mind-blowing in story...

I loved it so much that... if I get to go to Anime Expo again... and if I can afford it, I want my costumer to make me a Phoenix costume.

Phoenix is a HUGE story and "a tale of the future" is one part of it.
Each part of the phoenix story takes place in a different era, but are all linked somehow.
The "A Tale Of The Future" story is about this guy in the distant future (like year 30,000 or something). Anyways, everyone left on earth lives in cities underground because there was a disaster that made the plabet uninhabitable. Anyways, this guy is chosen to see the world destroyed and remade over and over again. It's kinda hard to explain, so go read it! It's great!

Um, that depends on your views on evolution. I really don't mind fiction that deals with evoultion too much, because... I'm confident that God created the universe... and I'm not completely opposed to the idea of evolution: I think that God just might have used it. I have at least one Christian friend who believes wholeheartedly in Darwanistic theory, yet, in conjunction with the Bible in such a way that it doesn't affect his Christianity. As for me... I personally lean more toward traditional Creationism, but I think the whole "days" thing in the Bible might be more symbolic... after all, in the Arctic, days can last for 3 months, nights for 6 months, because of the way the sun hits the polar areas.. making "day" and "night" relative there. Could time have been relative back in the early days of Creation? Anyway, I think the exact hows of how God did things is something that will not be revelaed to us until we all get to Heaven, and maybe never.

All in all, I don't care how God did it.. I don't care how you believe God did it, just so long as you know he did it. So... I'm not so offended by evolution used in fiction.

What kind of irked me about "Tale of the Future" is that, in effect, the main character, Masato, who was a mere man, sort of became God... still, I absolutely adore the manga... I found it thought provoking and mind-blowing.
