In no order of importance . . .
1. Slash (Guns n' Roses, Velvet Revolver)
2. Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen)
3. Jimi Hendrix (The Jimi Hendrix Experience)
4. Jimmy Page (Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin)
5. Eric Clapton (Yardbirds, Cream)
6. Randy Rhoads (Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne)
7. Brian May (Queen)
8. Jeff Beck (Yardbirds, Jeff Beck Group)
9. Joe Satriani (solo, G3)
10. Carlos Santana (Santana)
Random note: While he also played/plays guitar, Paul McCartney was primarily the Beatles' bassist. And he was a very good bassist.
