Does anyone listen to ABBA?

Postby Kiba-kun » Fri Dec 09, 2005 10:00 pm

I started listing to them again a few days ago and got addictid to them again. Does anyone else still listen to the group?
FKA Mythmaster

Why must we be abandoned in times of need?
Do others not see when we yearn for their touch;
An insatiable hunger only they can feed.
Left alone with out their words – fallen into darkness.
Stumbling blindly without their light,
We fall and scream, knowing we've faced too much,
Knowing the only answer is flight.
Flight from the lives we once faced
And the joys and terrors others have brought.
Our time with them, a time of joy and life,
Wonder we all, was it for naught?

I liked some of their older stuff: Eagle, Take A Chance on Me, etc.

Listening to ABBA should be classified as cruel and unusual punishment by the Geneva Convention.

They are were/are very popular in Australia, second only to Sweden.
I enjoy some of their songs, but others were ruined by the movie: Muriel's Wedding.

My dad does...I ranted about that some time ago...

I do like one song of theirs, "When I Kissed the Teacher". No clue why. All my teachers are ugly.

Yes, I'm a pretty big fan of ABBA and have heard most of their songs (even the obscure ones). Favs~ Under Attack, The Visitors, Eagle, Head Over Heels

Their performing costumes were a little strange then but they still beat whatever most popstars wear nowadays. (<.<;; ) I don't know whether ABBA falls under The Oldies, but that music category rocks~

Speaking of Swedish artists, I also dig Roxette. XD

Did you mean "don't wear these days?" :D

I'd rather not think of ABBA as "oldies," actually. That may just be me, though.

You and me both. If I thought of ABBA as "oldies," it would forever destroy that genre of music for me.

**shudders**
Actually, a friend and I learned a way to cope with that song. Replace "Fernando" with any three-syllable name of your choice.

What we've come up with:

Franchesca
Francisco
Ricardo
Retardo

Yeah, I'm kind of a closet ABBA junkie. I like "One of Us" and "Waterloo."
