These are some examples of what i can do. The wolf was copied( not traced) off a the lid to a puzzle box. I have been drawing parrots in that pose since 8th grade. I need some more practice so I can draw some thing more original. My manga/anime on the other hand, I only have two drawings done and niether are copied from any picture. (I'll see if I can scan those in later)

Thanks! :thumb:

I spent most of my extra time at school for about ady and half working on it.
the reason why is because it was a temporay escape from the pressures at school for me, and besides it was fun and relaxing.

The wolf was acctually for an english project and the parrot was just for fun.
The name of the wolf drawing is "A wolf's despair". it is a scene from Jack London's White Fang. (Jack is one of my three favorite authors)

Any way I'll see if a can get the scanner hooked up to one of the computers so i can scan some more in.(ecpecial my 2 manga drawings, what ever advice you cna give me when it is posted will be appreitated.)

About the manga... I just started drawing after I found this site, so I know it need some improvement.

Just for fun here is one of my computer graphics from 10th grade.

I read a story called "To Build a Fire" by him. Thought it was okay. Very symbolic. Ever read it? Anyway, pretty cool stuff. I like the wolf. :thumb:

Your computer stuff is really cool and surreal, I really like how detailed ALL of your art is!

Thank you. :) The reason that the underwater scene and the cat are surreal is because of the project that the were created for. The underwater scene was done for a "x-files" project nad the cat (wich was done earlier in my sophmore year) was for a dream project. The software that was used was macromedia Bryce 3d, Painter, and Poser. Poser was used for both projects and bryce wa s used for the underwater scene. The cat was done in painter.

If you are also refering to my avatar as surreal I ment for it to be Aragorn day dreaming about arwen (who he can't seem to keep his mind off of in the movie). :thumb: To make the avatar I only used two LotR pictures from the web and the gimp.

I have done a little work with blender 3d vers. 2.27,2.28 and lately 2.25.
I haven't really finished any thing yet but so far i think that it is better than bryce in one way... you can model your own meshes in blender. That is bryce's biggest short coming if you ask me.

ps: if any one can render bryce 3d files PLEASE pm me!!

Hi Elowen! I'm an artist-in-training, and I'm taking some drawing classes right now so I can tell you a little bit about what I'm learning. Not that I've mastered it yet, but ... learning.

First, your level of detail is really nice. I like how you draw every feather, and detail on the trees, etc. Now for the (hopefully) constructive criticism: Shading. One of my drawing instructors said that drawing is really a way of seeing, and it's true. If you can really see something and transfer it to paper, you're on your way. So for shading, pay attention to light and dark areas on your subject. Don't be afraid to go really dark, where the subject is really dark. (This was, and still is, one of my biggest problems.) Charcoal pencils are great for getting really dark, but regular pencils are fine too. You don't seem to have the problem of drawing too dark as some people do. But shading gives shape and volume to the subject.

It's just something that takes practice, as I am learning. A good way to practice this is draw something 3-dimensional in your house, like a lamp or cup or whatever, something with shape to it. Then pay attention to the shadows and the reflections, the way the light plays on it, and draw it.

You have great potential as an artist! I'd love to see some more of your work.

Thank's! :thumb: Your tips on shading are helpfull. One of the things that are much easier in 3d graphics is shading. The reson this is true is because the software handles all that for you.

I Iike your avatar. That is an exelant drawing of wolf.
