I was wondering if everyone here is ready for digital television. Unless our new president changes it, you'd better be ready by Feb 17!

As long as my LCD TV still Works after the change, I'll be ok.

I don't think too many people even use antennae.

I don't even have television, so it doesn't matter much. I miss it though... ;~;

Our family's plenty prepared, I'm sure. Not that it would be a huge deal - all I watch is House and the odd Mythbusters episode when I'm home from school.

I'm only ready for digital TV if it comes with polls attached to all of my favorite shows.

I don't even own a TV... not that I would watch it if I had one... TV is 55% commercials anyways...

I watch Hulu though, completely for the anime.

They're tracking us! Stinkin' government control! (Anyway I only use the my tv for watching DVD's on. It doesn't get anything anyway...)

Wait, what?

No seriously, I don't really watch TV. What is this exactly?

This.

They are going to stop broadcasting analog TV transmissions later in February. Anyone who uses an antenna will need a digital converter box for their TV to continue to work.

I don't think somewhere in the numbers of 19 to 24 mill people in the US that use antennas on TV is a small number. The Nielsen Co. said Thursday that more than 6.5 million U.S. households are still not prepared for the upcoming transition and could see their TV sets go dark next month.

They have ran out of funding for the TV converter box coupon program and people are now a on waiting list to get the TV converter box coupon. Consumers had already requested 44.9 million coupons as of the first of Jan, including 18 million that had been redeemed and 10.8 million that were in circulation but yet to be cashed in.

This is why they are thinking about delaying switch from analog TV transmissions to digital TV transmission.

We've been watching digital TV for a little while now. We have a TV antenna on the roof (I thought that was standard).
We've got until 2013 until they turn off analogue TV broadcasts here.

I'm just wondering if there's a way to broadcast to TVs that still pick up that way once the change occurs.

Yep. Quite ready. All our TV's are connected to cable. I do wonder about my TV Tuner card in my computer--will it be able to receive Digital signal?

My TV is digital-capable but I don't have a digital antenna (or an analog one for that matter). I don't even watch TV though, so I don't really care. XD As for people still using antennas...I had no idea so many people still did. Strange. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the people trying to get converter boxes are people who already have cable and don't understand how this change works.

Some are, plus you have some people that are cutting their cable bill out to save money.

This change over is really not at the best time for the US really.

No, I am not ready.

I do not think I have ever been more not ready for anything in my life.

In the list of things that I have not been ready for, this would probably be no. 1.

Only if it's a digital TV tuner card.

Have a digital-capable TV, but get bad reception with it. Analog reception is pretty good, but we're still griping about the lack of robustness with ATSC.
