What Biblical character would you like to meet in Heaven (besides Jesus)

USSRGirl asked me a question that I thought would be a great topic to pass on. If you could meet any Biblical figure besides Jesus, who would you want to meet and why?
For me, it'd probably be Peter or the Virgin Mary. They've both been models for my faith. Besides, since I pray the rosary often, I feel as though I know the Virgin Mary intimately.

I want to meet David, and Esther!
I love all David's daring adventures, his trials, his faith. "the man after God's own heart". I'm sure he would know many more stories than those mentioned in the Bible. I want to just sit and listen.
I like Esther because she's so courageous and clever. Imagine, being a queen.
Maybe even ask Judas Iscariot what was going through his head.

I would probably want to meet Job. He went through soooo much and never once doubted God's fairness and love. I admire that unshakable faith.

God the Father. Trinity yaaaaaay~ Although, since the thread title says "in Heaven," there's really no reason to pick one. I'd want to meet just about all of them. Especially David and Paul.

I'd really like to meet Paul. That man was incredible, especially considering the kind of guy he was when they were still calling him Saul.

I know there are more but I think Paul is my #1.

Yeah, but... ya know giving a cop out answer is the unforgiveable sin right? XD

I'd go with Jael... cause she is cool. And maybe Balaam's talking donkey.

I would like to meet Daniel and Deborah and Huldah. Daniel is the only major prophet about which nothing bad was said. I would like to know how he thought to keep his calm and peace in a world like his. I would also like to know from Deborah and Huldah what it was like to live as a female prophet and prophet/judge in ancient societies were women were property. I also want to know how this impacted their marriages and how they're husbands dealt with this knowledge and peoples reactions.

WOW hard question. um a lot of em. If I had to pick one, how about Hosea - he had to marry an unfaithful wife, but he kept redeeming her, forgiving her, and loving her. Outside of God and his relationship with us, I think his love love may have suffered the most betrayal repeatedly and still loved her. I want to know how to not only continue to love the person, but continue to forgive and be intimate with people you know are going to hurt you again.

I would like to meet Esther, I've just finished reading that part of the bible and I think she was so brave!

I would also like to meet David, Solomon and the Virgin Mary :)

Paul - I would love to hear him talk to me about how to face trials

Jemuel. That guy doesn't do anything at all (He's just in a geneaology list), and I'd like to see what my namesake did.
Other than that, I'd really like to see Abraham. Be nice to see my *dad*!

I would visit Joseph because I'm sure he would feel very lonely with everybody wanting to meet his wife and not caring about him and then maybe he would feel better.

Also I would want to meet Ehud and tell him he was awesome for inventing the one-liner.

Then I would want to meet the guy who wrote Revelation and slap him.

Adam.

It would be very intriguing to learn about what Earth was like thousands of years ago.

Elijah was a pretty awesome guy to hang with, so probably him.

In the New Testament, Paul and Peter, though not for the reasons most people usually list either of them.

Of course I would like to meet all of them.

I'd like to meet Job, and probably Ruth of OT, then John the Baptist, and Timothy

If it has to be one (though no one else seems to be following that standard), I'd go with Melchizedek. One person, so many questions answered.

Elijah for sure, but there are so many people in the bible that really capture my interest.

Well, I would say Abishai, because anyone who can kill 300 men in one fight with just spear is a person I would like to know. That being said, Melchizedek would appeal to my scholarly curiosity, assuming I still care about such things when I am in heaven. Elijah strikes me as someone who I would like to know on earth, not neccessarily in heaven.

And here we were just translating from the N.T. about Melchizedek in Greek class. I can't believe I forgot him!

Why would you want to slap "the disciple that Jesus loved" aka john. I have my own thing to say about John but it is a bit of a tangent...
I wouldn't. I'd freaking snuggle with him, if only because he proved that snuggling isn't sexual and snuggling another guy is perfectly legit, and I'm saying this without a trace of a joke or irony or anything like that. He's the guy who rested his head on Jesus' chest. I mean it. I'm a physical guy that's held back by image and reputation. I can't do the things that I want, that I know biblically there's nothing wrong with, because perverse people consider all close contact sexual and think I'm gay if I get too close to another guy.

I mean, heck, they kissed each other without it being sexual... Now, I wouldn't go that far, but that is likely only due to my cultural programming. John is SOOO someone I'd want to meet.
So, John would be a good start (plus the already mentioned Ehud). Peter is another one. Only because everyone should be able to identify with peter, doing stupid things then backing down and looking like a fool, and yet God still uses him greatly. Along those lines, and even more so, is David... A man after God's heart who did some of the most heinous things imaginable. He is a testament to forgiveness if I ever saw one.

Bob, Nate is making a joke. He means that he would keep Joseph company becuase he would feel left out since everyone wants to see his wife, Mary, mother of Jesus.

Get it?

Sapphi wrote:Haha, why?! XD

Because I don't like the book of Revelation for a multitude of reasons. <.<
Bob wrote:Why would you want to slap "the disciple that Jesus loved" aka john.

You're assuming that the John that wrote Revelation is the same as John the disciple...which is not necessarily the case. There's actually dispute if they are the same person.

Oh, I was thinking of the other Joeseph... Haha, and that goes to prove Nate's point.
