It's an old, old internet meme.

My response? It's amazing, but I've met people like this both online and off. But why should it be a surprise? Is it really any different from how the Nazi's responded when put on trial for their actions?

This isn't new. Society isn't going down the tubes. This has been happening since the dawn of time. And will continue until we all receive our final judgments.

See? You can boast of your sins for days, months, years, even decades, but it all comes back to the same place.

I really feel sorry for everyone in this case. Including the families of those two teenage girls.

18 and tried. What a sad way to start an adult life.

I would make them sell cookies to earn that money back and hire someone to steal it from them to teach them a lesson.

Good thing at least one of them is in jail. Maybe she'll learn something.

Yet another reason we as christians should get off our lazy butts and make the world a better place! While we're sitting here on our rears, this is happening around us. We've got to do something about this!

My question is who taught these girls that money is that important...because clearly it is an eternal thing that didn't run out when the spent it on what they "needed" and clearly they didn't have enough time to get a job and make a lot more money then that 9 year old girl. On a slightly more humorous note...I enjoyed the fact that in the first video the girls faces weren't blotted out as well as they probably should have been...hehe...serves them right.

She'll learn that rather than solve the problems of society we just throw them into a cell, thus giving them a criminal record and making it nearly impossible to get a job in the real world, thus forcing her to commit a crime again just to survive, causing her to go right back to jail?

Not sure that's something I'd like her to learn.

Those witches! No sense of remorse, responsibility - any of that.
They need to be punished and punished accordingly.
For a start teach them they can't do whatever the heck they want.

People like this greatly annoy me.

I agree, and in the video, they said they have done theft before.

They are just spoiled rotten airheads and the only thing that would teach them anything is, to make them work and pay back the money they took.

Let me just state, for the record:

It's just gonna get worse, and there's nothing that will be able to be done about it. What we just need to do is minister to those who need ministering, mend who needs mending, and let God take care of the rest.

So it's news and a portent of civilization's downfall that a couple of older girls stole from a nine year old girl scout while the fact that a lucrative multi-million multinational child prostitution industry subjects millions of girls her age to brutal sexual slavery remains off the airwaves, out of sight, and out of mind? This little girl was fortunate enough to receive justice in time through the intervention of the media because she belongs to the American middle class and is a member of an organization that transmits our cultural ideals, values, and prejudices to new generations. We Christians should remember that Jesus came for the salvation of all humanity, and take a broader perspective of suffering and injustice. We should remember that even the perpetrators of such terrible crimes are also in need of redemption, and that Jesus came to save them too.

I can't say I'm surprised; unfortunately that kind of petty selfishness and cruelty is a part of human nature.

I do think though that if those were my kids, they'd be getting the hiding of their lives, teenager or not. Though it would probably be a couple of years late, if they're shallow enough to steal from a 9 year old. I'd really like to know what these girls' parents said when (if) they found out.

We had an incident a while back with a video of girls torturing a couple of, mice, I think it was. I don't remember the details, but it caused quite an outcry.

I once heard a pastor preach a sermon about one role of Christians this way: "Pick up the castoffs of society, dust them off, and set them back on their feet." Clearly not deep theology, but at the end of the day, it will probably have a greater impact on more people.

You remember the thread about the 5 year old autistic boy being voted out of the class? It all starts there. Now those kids think it's okay to blatantly tell people they hate them.

And I don't think those girls are aware of how much money Girl Scouts DON'T make from cookie sales (I was the one who commented that on the video--if and when the comment shows up--so no need to use quotes).
