What has Hello Kitty even done? I see the merchandise everywhere but I have never heard of a Manga or Anime or TV soap or anything.

Its only for the Japan tourism ambassador to China and Hong Kong.

Me, the lover of cute things.. Have never seen any Hello Kitty ^__^; Nor, do I know the theme song ^__^; Nor, do I posses any Hello Kitty memorabilias (sp)

I remember a Hello Kitty anime on Fox Family Channel awhile back. Took them long enough to make Kitty a tourism ambassador. XD

About Hello Kitty for people that never really heard of it.

Hello Kitty was created by the Sanrio Company of Japan in 1974 and got a registered trademark in 1976.

Animated films that were done by Sanrio Company from 1977 to 1985 had cameo appearances of Hello Kitty in them.

So called first Hello Kitty animated series was an American animated with Japan as the co-producer in 1987 and was called Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theatre

This is not the first time that Hello Kitty has been an ambassador.

Hello Kitty has a position of U.S. children's ambassador for UNICEF since 1983.

Yes, I'm embarrassing the heck out of myself, but do I care? No, not really. 'Sides, I have two Hello Kitty folders for school, and no one really seems to care.

Bottom line, it was a cute show. Not something I'd really want to watch much now, but it was cute.


I understand I'm sort of being off-topic, but it's Hello Kitty and all, so... *shrugs*

Doraemon is a robotic cat named that travels back in time from the 22nd century to aid a schoolboy name Nobita Nobi.

The 1973 Doraemon series was not very well like and fizzled after only 26 episodes. The 1979 Doraemon is the one that became popular, which still runs to this day with over 2,000 episodes total to this date.

Anyway, that sounds pretty cool.
On another note,I went to the Hello Kitty store in the mall yesterday and man do they have a lot of cute stuff. I had to restrain myself from buying anything there
(though I could have gotten away with since my hair is longish and people have been mistaking me for girl lately),but if I was a girl I'd buy it in a heart beat.
