Japanese Snacks At FYE!

The last time I went to FYE, I was surprised to find Japanese snacks and a few bottles of Ramune soda set under shelves of anime boxsets. There were small boxes of almond Pocky sticks, packs of fruit gummy snacks (name was in Japanese), boxes of small, square cookies with chocolate strawberry feeling in center, and as I said before, 3 bottles of Ramune soda. I'm crossing my fingers in hopes for chocolate-dipped Pocky sticks. <3

Sweet. I know they have them at Suncoast but I've never seen them at FYE. Is the anime selection/prices decent at your local FYE? Mine bites. It's a handful of titles, mostly hentai and all way overpriced.

Yeah, in my local FYE, they have different Ranmune soda, five different kinds of Pocky, Chocolate-Filled Koalas, Kiwi Gummis, Spicy Wasabe Peanuts, and the like.
>w<
But it's sad, because I can only go to FYE if my chorus has a trip to a Choral Competition, and we only have two a year.
Eeh...the anime selection here...
There are a LOT of unknown titles, and not many popular ones.
I mean, there are the classics like Dragonball/Z/GT, Naruto, Fruits Basket, and stuff, but they don't even have BLEACH or Tsubasa Resovoir Chronicles!
There are some hentai titles, sadly, but hey. Ya can't change what they have in stock, right?

They've been carrying that for a while now. I love Kansai Oven Roasted Peas. They're good for ya and they're really tasty! One of these days, I've got to try the Ramune soda. As for the anime prices...well...if you catch 'em on a good day, you might catch a few deals. They also accept trades too, which will give you an even better discount.

What they really need is C.C. Lemon. That stuff's GOOD!

I never see C.C. Lemon anywhere, not even in Asian supermarkets. Kinda weird. o_O Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

If you want the taste of Ramune any time, try refreshing BAWLS brand energy drink.

I bought a Ramune after I saw it in Duenna Coil, and promptly pinched my palm on it getting it open. The mark stayed there for weeks. Honestly. No wonder the bottle came with a disclaimer.

My FYE store has had that stuff for at least a few years...

Sadly, the closest FYE is about an hour away, so I don't get there very often. We have strawberry Pocky and chocolate Pocky at our Wal-Mart though, so I get my fix from there.

FYE and Suncoast stores here have sold pocky since 2004 I believe. Though now they sell other Asian goods such as drinks and other candies.
I was in an FYE a few weeks ago and they had Mario as well as Advent Children Energy Drinks. Am I crazy or fan enough to buy them? No, because I know I'd never drink them. When the ingredients are all in Japanese and I can only make out half of what's in it I know it's not the drink for me.

We don't have FYE that I know of. We don't have Suncoast anymore either. Which is fine with me, because both are ridiculously overpriced. XD
One of the comic shops around here used to carry all kinds of cool snacks and stuff, but they hardly ever do anymore. I want some more green tea Pocky. ._.

Just for the record, there aren't any FYE's in my area.
Sounds like a cool store, though.

I've gotten Pocky from a few places lately, Walmart had 1.41 oz chocolate dipped Pocky for $1.. I'm hoping our Walmart will start carrying them. XD
*stares longingly at the 2 empty pocky boxes on his desk*

C.C. Lemon? Never heard of it. *googles*
There's an FYE at the local mall (but it's on the other side of Books-A-Million -_-;; ). There's lots of anime titles, but each DVD costs $10 or $15; the box sets are $40. So I'm assuming that's overpriced? XD;;
I've been the Mario and Duff energy drinks there; adults always say they're bad for you. D= So I suppose I shouldn't get into the habit of drinking caffeine and ginseng.
Wait a min...WAL-MART CARRIES POCKY!? O_O
*er-hem*

Yup, WAl-Mart carries Pocky for $0.93 a box!
^w^
Have you guys heard of...oh, darn, I forgot the name.
My Uncle bought it for me a month ago, and it's a Singapore candy.
Basically, it's like REALLY long pocky with little anime-animal faces and cute ((if sometimes confusing)) sayings.
It comes with a strawberry filling container built in, and it the shape of a stretched-out Cup-Of-Noodle container...

Sounds kinda like Yan Yan, but I think that's Japanese as well.

Aw, man!!! And I was just at the mall today buying hairsticks! (and looking for videogames, but that's beside the point...)
I know I could pick up those items (the snacks, not the hairsticks) at my local Asian Market but I'd like to go into FYE and see for myself.

Hey guys, I hate to revive threads, but while I was at Suncoast today, I got a bottle of Ramune for the first time.
IT IS GOOD.

*sniff* That makes me miss Suncoast...
but... I am lucky enough to have a killer Asian Market about ten minutes from my house... Yan yan, Pocky, Kasugai gummies, and a whole HOST of other yummeh treats from our favorite island nation... Cheap too! ^_^

"Yan yan??"
(Okay, okay, I know that's not what the guy said in that show, but I couldn't resist...Macross reference to some vid I saw on YouTube with this girl singing some song over and over again...)
Try the melon Ramune...it's my favorite flavor.
And yeah, we went to FYE and I saw it too...finally...but I didn't check the prices. And I agree with Neko-chan...my Asian Market has some great stuff at low prices too. ^_^

Here in Dallas, several asian supermarkets have Ramune, and even Wal-Mart carries yan-yan and pocky. But in case anyone has one near them, Central Market carries Ramune as well.
As fast as my kids slurp them down, I can't afford to buy them except once in a while, but I bring home four or more at least a couple times a month.
Melon seems to be a favorite, but there's a blue one (can't remember the flavor) that they like too.

Just bought some Ramune from FYE yesterday, actually. First time I ever had one, actually. It was pretty good.

Has anyone ever been to an H-mart? Or is that just a local Chicago thing?

Can't say I've ever heard of it...
So, what exactly is "yan-yan"?

The best way to describe it, I guess would be, 'unassembled Pocky'.
Basically a bunch of stick-shaped cookies and a pudding-like chocolate dip. Not sure what the attraction is, but if I bring it home, the kids scarf it down before I have the groceries put up.
