YaY! For your first time attending a convention! ^__^ I remember my first convention being very overwhelming but at the end of it all alot of fun.
I will be attending Anime Expo as well as Otakon this year. This will be my first time attending Expo so I am super excited about that. I am mainly going for the Pop/Shock Masquerade. Some of my friends did this last year (they did Morning Musume, another group there did a W performance...I so wish they had that one on youtube!!) and raved about how much fun they had. So, in honor of last years most awesome AAA concert brought to us by Otakon (I mean we are representing the east coast!
) we are doing the J-Pop group Attack All Around (AAA) song of choice: DRAGON FIRE. I will be participating as Chiaki Ito. My costume is already complete, dance moves down, and voice in perfect pitch! ^__~ You can view the video
here.
Otakon I do every year. Normally, I cosplay but I decided not too this year because I will not be attending with a big group only my sister and myself. Though that doesn't mean I won't dress in a Yukata or in J-Popish style
I had started 3 different costumes (all for group cosplay fun!) my first and still unfinished Chocola from Sugar Sugar Rune, my second and completed: Lilie from Princess TuTu in her school uniform but without a Duck, Rue, Fakir, Mytho or Pique!! I doubt anyone would know who I am >__<, my third costume and most of the way done!: Kahoko Hino La'Corda D'Oro GenEd school uniform. Though, I am still hoping for Otakon meet-ups! I love to see new/old faces
Last year I went as..... on Friday: Yuko from XXXHolic. From the 3 I made this was my newest. My others I had worn at other cons. I made the costume from the cover art on volume 5. From the 36 button Edwardian style short coat to the rufflely skirt and long whimsical gossamer veil! My outfit was even complete with an orange/blue bird in my top hat. I love that costume to death! It was the most challenging costume I ever made but well worth it. I received a lot of compliments on it. Saturday: Michelle from Read or Die in her Paper Master's outfit. It was great because we had a Joker, Drake, Anita, Maggie, Nancy, and a Yomiko. We also had a few of our friends dress up in the "British Library" uniforms though we didn't stay in them for long only for a photoshoot and that was it. ^__^ Sunday: Robin Sena from Witch Hunter Robin and sweated to death I actually retired that one after two wears because I loved it so much but not enough to want to wear it in the summer for a 3rd time again!
Next year, I am planning on doing a Gondoliers uniform from Aqua/Aria just because I am now obsessed with the manga! ^__^ I also want to do Ichigo from Kamikaze Girls only because the "Yankee" style is so easy to make.
Edit: Wow, already 4 people going to Otakon! ^__^ Hooray!
