well my car goes in to the shop next weekend, hopefully the out come will be a smoothly running engine, and my labors will not be in vein. if it dosent i may end up selling it for parts.
the lesson from this is never fall in love with an old car.

If you end up selling it...
Buy an El Camino! Awesome cars.
Paint it like this one, and race it on the streets of New York.

ok today i got started by hooking the transmission cooling lines back up properly and getting the elertircs hooked up, sadly it seams that my starter has given up the ghost. this would not have been so bad had it not been in a tight spot requireing my haveing to disconect the exaust again, and posibly the transmissions cooling line as well. but the carburator is now in place and i fixed the shifter so it now funtions properly. tomorrow i bo out to but all the parts that need replacing. fuel lines wireing and ofcource a brand new starter.
after all this and much cleaning as well i still have to hook up the power steering the ignition coil and the whole fuel system before i can crank her up, hopefull im looking at running by the end of the week.
