Well as you may have guessed via the thread title, this thread is mostly concentrated towards Creation/Evolution stuff.

Anyways, I'm mostly starting this thread just to see where people stand and if they have the facts to back their faith.

Actually, I was intrigued by a post from UC Pseudonym which read:

Well, for those of you taking the Word of God, I congradulate you in principle. However, I'd warn you that it really won't do you any good when you're trying to answer the questions of people who don't accept the Word.

which was written in another thread. This is so true, and I more then believe that we can't possibly witness to someone whom automatically discredits the bible as fairy-tales. I've always found that the best place to win a battle, is on the other persons own turf. Hence why I spent much of my High-School and some of my college life exploring the Bible and Creation through scientific means. That way, I can witness and debate with a evolutionist and be somewhat educated and not come off as a bad example to other Christian, giving to the myth that christianity and science don't mix.

As for my own standpoint...I'm a proud Creationist pure and simple. I've done enough homework now to be more then solidly founded in the validity of the Bible scientifically. My main fav topic however is dinosaurs..so whoever brings that up will most likely get the majority of my attention.

Anyways, how about the rest of you. What are you views, or questions? I'd luv to hear them all.

God Bless,
Archan

I never even took Biology, so unfortunately I can't argue my belief with much confidence... I'd get stuck very easily... Also, I am still not sure whethere I believe in "old earth" or "new earth" as I've seen CHRISTIANS with strong arguments for both... I try not to think about it anymore since I just don't know enough about it...

I have studied some biology, geology, geophysics, as well as physics and chemistry and have had a lifelong interest in astronomy. I also have a brother who is a biologist.

Having studied the material (and the claims of creationists), I am fully prepared to say that I have no moral or scientific qualms about the current understanding of the world's (and man's) origins. The theories, far from being "bullcrap" are supported by mountains of evidence. And unlike various creationist theories, they have not been falsified. I have no trouble saying that I believe them to be correct, at least in their generalities, and moreover quite compatible with Christian belief. In other words, I am a quite unapologetic evolutionist.

Well, I'm pleased that I got quoted. I'm not exactly pleased that it's going to become an evolution/creation thing.

This is a somewhat unilateral action, but the other mods can always reverse it if they all disagree. This thread is likely to become an argument. In fact, it almost surely will be, with a number of creationists and Technomancer around (not that I am insulting you, I merely state that both sides have strongly held views).

But this thread will just tear us apart, over quite an unimportant issue. God made Earth, and it's irrelevant how it came to be (not really, but it's irrelevant for this forum).

Thread closed.
