ROADTRIP!!!!!

Well, believe me, as long as there are people who love to eat sugar but not care about their health, there will be some kind of deep-frying place near. Im afraid Im a victim of this.

Actually, I tried a Deep Fried Snickers bar before at a Strawberry Festival in Ponchatola, Louisiana, and it was actually quite good! They coat and then deep fry it in Pancake batter until the coating is nice and brown. It's not greasy at all! It's really gooey on the inside, though!

Hm .. very hard for me, hehe. Well, here's mine in no particular order:

Pumpkin Pie
Pound Cake (I like making this myself)
Velvet cake
Most cookies
Blueberry pie custard (Oh so good!)

I have a ton of sweet recipes that I can't wait to get started on. Maybe I'll post some pictures of them when I make em'.

You are a lucky, lucky man to no longer have Krispy Krap where you live.

I remember one time in nuke school, they decided to do a fundraiser thing selling Krispy Kreme donuts. They actually LOST money because the first day a couple of people bought some, ate them, found out how friggin' awful they were, and warned everyone else. Seriously they could not sell those donuts for anything. It was hilarious.

Have you ever had fresh Krispy Kreme doughnuts? They're amazing. I don't even understand you people. They're way better than Dunkin Donuts' doughnuts that I could basically get from the grocery store and it would be the same thing.

Now, there are some local doughnut shops that are incredible... I mean, I enjoy Krispy Kreme, but it's hard to beat doughnuts from a good hole-in-the-wall bakery.

Jaymay, lemme school you on something. I live in St. Louis. St. Louis the home of the Doughnut. We have more mom and pop Doughnut shops per capita than any other city in the country. Additionally, we've more award winning recipies than anywhere else.

My friend, you must come to St. Louis. Come here and I will show you doughnuts. I will show you doughnuts like you've never believed. Nate, you can come as well. Andrew. Ryan. Well have a doughnut sausage fest. No girls allowed.

Ok. The girls can come too.

DONUT ROAD TRIP! \o\

The only donuts I've ever liked were the jelly filled ones they sell at the family owned market by school. Mainly because in my childhood, I thought three Krispy Kreme donuts in a row was a good idea, and my stomach set out to prove me wrong.

I don't understand you Shiroi about KK. Really, I don't see how they are gross or nasty. I'd even eat the 2 day old doughnuts. Really, you're making no sense because glaze is awesome.

I can see why mom and pop doughnut stores are far superior to KK(Even though I haven't been to one! See there, Im giving you some blind faith.), but come on KK is not bad.

Im with Jamie in that KK is good, while DD not so much.

You're making no sense. I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut that was powdered and glazed. You must have had some bad impostor or a Krispy Kreme franchise that was poorly run.

You know what? I changed my mind.

Krispy Kreme IS better than Dunkin Donuts.

Also, McDonald's is better than Fuddrucker's.

In addition to this, Bebe's Kids for SNES is better than Super Mario World, Uwe Boll's Dungeon Siege movie was better than Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies, and Mindless Self-Indulgence is better than the Beatles.

This post made me chuckle.. I'm glad I wasn't sucking on a cough drop this time (LJ thing) xDD;

I agree with Jamie ^^ Krispy Kremes are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better when fresh 8D Or, even semi-fresh xDD; After that, they get all crispy and hard and just taste "bleh" >_<

I'm sorry, Khaki 8( They're box made brownies.. not home made xDD;;

Book my rooms right now.

Let's see, as to the topic at hand...

Pies and cobblers are fundamentally better than cakes as a matter of general principle. You could spread store-bought industrially packaged frosting on just about any soft crusted baked goods and have a supply of cakes ready for any occasion. But pies, you just can't reproduce that with two ingrediants and a quick jab. There are exceptions of course. I don't think I could ever find carrot cake not delicious. But generally speaking, pies and cobblers are king.

Especially heated up with a side of ice cream~.

Cheesecakes deserve a special sentance all their own. Though they require a second one to add I can't eat too much of them in one place.

Also, allow me to bring dessert drinks into the mix with milkshakes. Nothing fancy, just some ice cream and milk mixed up in a blender for a couple seconds. I prefer them runnier myself, but I know there are differing opinions.

And finally, to address this recent string of doughnut flavored antagonism, I proudly identify myself as a "Dunker" who requires a good, large glass of milk to accompany almost any doughnut-related eating endeavours. To this end, Krispy Kremes are an exceedingly poor choice.

They are, however, in all other respects, great when fresh.

I was going to let this go, but now, sir, you have left with me no other recourse. Have at you. (LOL INTERNET)

I still contend that you've never had a real Krispy Kreme donut or a fresh one, at least. Typically, what gets passed out at fundraisers or left to sit in grocery store shelves for three days is NOT the same product that you get from a real Krispy Kreme shop. Of course, by that same token, I wouldn't want to eat any donuts that have been sitting there for three days. You've probably had one from like a grocery store that was tossed in a Krispy Kreme box and left to sit there for some extended period, but have you ever visited an actual Krispy Kreme shop? More than likely not, seeing as your primary experience with them was from some fundraising vendor while you were in the military and that left you with a bad taste. I'd say Krispy Kreme donuts are more like Super Mario World than ANY Dunkin Donut donut that I've ever had.

Since you're implying that I have some irrational love of Krispy Kreme donuts, I'll tell you why I prefer them. I prefer Krispy Kreme donuts because they are lighter than Dunkin Donuts. A good Krispy Kreme donut is moist and delicate, while with Dunkin Donuts, it starts to feel like I'm a dog with peanut butter stuck on the roof of my mouth. A fresh Krispy Kreme donut melts in your mouth, and I much prefer that. I've actually eaten both Krispy Kreme AND Dunkin Donuts from their shops, in the morning when they were fresh, and I still prefer Krispy Kreme. If tasting both and making a decision based on their quality is the same as saying Uwe Boll's film is better than Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, then I am honestly at a loss for what to tell you. Maybe my tastebuds are broken!

I get the point of your post, though... it's cute. It's wrongheaded, but it's cute.
