Many of the members who initially populated these forums didn't stick around, for whatever reason. It's strange to reflect on that now.

Some, of course, are still present, like Ashley. Gypsy and Shatterheart used to be around a fair bit, and I enjoyed chatting with Shooraijin. I remember when Mithrandir was using his older handle and had Vampire Hunter D as his avatar.

HONTOU NI It's so hard to imagine Mith having a different name and avy ^_^ I remember saying one time that I've always imagined Mith looking like his avy (the one he has now). I think the reply to that aws,"UC looks more like Mith's avy then Mith does XD" Something like that

Still talk to faithfighter from time to time, but not as much as I used to unfortuantely. And I haven't gotten to have a good conversation w/ t4t in forever...had comp probs last time we tried to talk, and that was the first time in years. Ah, adn Sao_Sakura as well. There was also a group I often RP'd w/, back when I still ptu the time into RPGs, but I stopped RP'ng, so yeah...

Hey I'm still here ^^. Although I'm still a newbie, but I don't plan on leaving any time soon because I really love it here a lot so far ^^.

Dug into my old old posts for this, but there were quite a few people I remember from the "old" days. They tended to fall into a few weird groupings: The video games people, the crew of the ship Infiniti (anybody remember DJBD?), and random others - including the people that were in a bible study with me way back when (I remember Shoo worked really really hard to integrate a bible into the old MUD chat for that - great stuff it was).

We really ought to have more bible studies.

Anyhow, my old school people (I cheated and searched out my early posts):

The games folks: Volt, madphilb, Bobtheduck, UC, Mave, Azier, JediSonic, Shiroi, Inkhana, Gypsy, Calbhach, and some people from the GRG (Is the GRG still around?). Also, I played some Halo 2 with dragonshimmer, ikimasu, Gypsy, and others way back when as well - good times.

Infiniti's Crew: Link Antilles, Haibane Shadsie, DrNic, Cbwing0, Spencer, Gypsy, Cobalt Angel, Marauding Maniac, Ashley, Zip, Shooraijin, Icarus, lightbringer, and Centers Focus.

I'll always remember DJBD as a really neat idea and well-written by those that stuck around - bummer it fizzled out, and that I got too busy for it. I think I also made a character for Tairis as well (awesome idea btw - and great work Gypsy and Lightbringer - you guys should sell your idea to Wizards of the Coast or something). Bummer Tairis never really got off the ground. It was ambitious - I think every character was going to get both a stat/skills sheet and an artist's rendering - if I remember correctly.

Some random people I remember: OmegaAmen, Cephas, sldr4christ, Swordguy, Eirewolf, kaji, Rev. Doc, and a couple of now banned members.

I've also realized something (considering I don't have 1000 posts yet - and a ton of newer members than I do) - There was a time in my life when I had a lot of time for both this forum and for having a life - now, I don't have much time for either. Perhaps this is the biggest reason I don't see some of these people around the forums as much (they're just as busy as I am).

For the most part though, a lot of the people I remember from my first 6-12 months on this forum are still around at least once in a while.

Heh, we should have a GRG, DJBD, and Tairis reunion/mixer.

Guess there's always eternity for that.

Sorry, the GRG has gone the way of the dodo. Some of those people you mentioned were on my first thread. I remember that when I first joined, you guys had a whole bunch of new mods. It was a big announcement. I think Mangafanatic, Yumie, Rogie, and a few others had become mods for the first time. I was a little apprehensive about meeting the mods because I was afraid that would mean bad news. But then I eventually learned that they're not bad news--they want to participate in the discussions too. I even got to meet some of them behind the scenes in chat rooms and now I think they are great people! (yeah, kissing up)
As for first people I ever talked to, they're still around--Mith, Yahshua, Ark, RD. And I still keep up with them too!

My husband SP1 got me into this crazy place as you can see on my profile I have made a lot of friends here. Sometimes I forget to log on and see who on but I know I can go to any IM (Yahoo) to if they are there. There are few that I had made connections with that I talk with more ( I guess thats the mom in me). After I joined, my daughter who goes by Raven joined. There two guys that I like really talking with is Dan (Yahshua) and SigmaKnight or Siggie.

I really enjoy coming on this website to see and talk to different people and get some new friends on the way.

*looks around* It has been many moons since I last logged on... I feel like I'm spread very thin online these days; I've been mostly in art forums, doing networking and such. Oh yeah, and actually working on art once in a while too. Anyway, it isn't that I don't love you guys... Just been super-busy.

As for remembering people I talked to a lot when I first joined -- there are so many! I can't possibly name them all, and I don't want to leave anyone out. But I will name one... My favorite is Mithrandir. (I'm allowed to say that; I'm married to him!)

After that, I have to go with Ingemar above me (was I the only one who realized that his screen name was his given name the first time I saw it?), and shadowblade, who I also no longer see. I have made some new friends (hello new friends!), but this is a nostalgia thread, so I'll conclude my contribution there.

Actually, CAA has had quite a profound impact on my life, even though I always seemed to find myself on the fringes of whatever social interaction was going on. Being the first large forum that I've ever belonged to, it has been a learning experience in more ways than one.

Now I find myself mostly interacting with people who go back and forth between Anime Angels and CAA, namely goldenspines and jaems-kun. And I cannot neglect to mention the huge blessing it has been to be creatively associated with uc, Mave, Psycho-Ann and Christiankitsune/Kitchan, since, without CAA, I would have never known them.

I hope to eventually get back into CAA, as I haven't really been around and posting for ages.

If I remember correctly, when I first started, I'd basically just post my opinoin on something and then leave. I didn't really start to get to know people until I ventured into the chat. I meet and got to know Nate (when he was still kaemmerite), Corrie (RD), Ryan (MSP) and FC (who joined not to long after I did). I need to start posting more often. :/

Now, I rarely use CAA for "socializing" although my PM box is full. I mostly chat with Ann, UC, Kit-chan, Esoteric, Zhen and Sy offsite though.

I mostly visit/lurk at the General, Manga Bleach/Naruto, Webmanga and Prayer threads.

XD I think when I first joined you had a different avatar...it was in 2005...

I know it was in black and white like that one..and I think it had a hat, but I think the hair was white or soemthing
