Talk about anything in here.

I'll see about going to AX once I get all the crap I need for my move and see if I still have money to survive after that. If I do, I'll go, if not... Well,

If the guest list stays the same as is at AWA.

I may not go at all this year. If I don't go, it will be the first time that I never been to AWA, since going in 2001.

Roy, I know you go for mainly the guests; however, Im sure you would still have a great time! I mean this year at Animazement there weren't as many Japanese guests, but we still had a great time. Im sure that the panels will be fun and that the people in charge of AWA will still try to make the con something great to attend.

Also you don't want to break your record, do you?

Do I want to pay $500 for a hotel room, when there is nothing that I really care to see or do. I don't go to panels at all. The last panel that I went to was the FMA panel a few years back. Years ago, I use to go to panels, but I stop after I would miss the dances and the guest autograph in the dealer room.

I come to hate panels really, because I can't hear what people are saying. When you have fanboy/fangirls that will not shut up talking as the guests of the panels are talking.

I've been to Detour once, and my friends have gone two or three times, but we were all staff for AI once upon a time and there is something of a hard rivalry between the two cons. That combined with people who we had a falling-out with joining the Detour staff, combined with the drive (We're in St. Louis) and we just kind of stopped going.

Yes, Anime Escrow is, and considering that you went through MC Basic Training without telling CAA's most famous San Diegite I'm disappointed.

I would love to visit an official anime con someday. The only cons I get to go to are the ones at my local FYE, but I still enjoy them. ^_^

I'll be going to the Project EXP con in St. Augustine Florida again this year. It's a neat little con and I really enjoyed it last year. Last year they had Steve Blum, and Johnny Young Vasch. They haven't announced the full list of guests yet, but one of them is going to be Terrance Carson, the voice of Kratos from God of War. Hopefully, I'll have a room this time that way I don't have to drive back and forth constantly like last year. u.u

Also, so for disappearing for so long, a lot has been going on with me lately. :/

So, my friend that I was going to ride up to Otakon with had crazy work stuff come up and can't go now. I THINK I can work out an alternative ride, and at least my room still seems secure, but it's still not fun to deal with. Plus, that makes nearly ALL of my usual con buddies absent this year. BOO! :(

What adds insult to injury is that MOST of them aren't going to Otakon because they're going to Dragon*Con, which I can't afford to go to this year :stressed:

Well said.

Update: not only has a new Otakon ride provided itself, but one of those friends I was bellyaching about not coming will be showing up after all!

Now I just need to finally figure out what all my cosplays will be...

Well I am ready for Otakon. A friend of mine from our old anime club has made the hotel reservation and is waiting to go come Thursday. I just hope that the weather doesn't mess things up. They are calling for storms Thursday and Friday so far. My buddy is also saying that a sidewalk area near the convention center is closed because of repairs.
I am not sure but I wonder if the above the street walkways is what he is talking about. I think they have been in need of repairs for a long time.

That's it! I can't take it anymore!

I am so doing both AX and Otakon next year! And I am definitely dressing up! Too many good times are passing me by!

The part of the sidewalk my friend says is between Sharp and Charles Streets in front of the convention center. It may affect the movement of the attendees around the center.

They're also closing that outside terrace on the top floor, too.
