Now it was hard to see, but I think that was just the cover over the bumper. So it could have been plastic, and (as we saw) not very resilient. Having been attacked by dogs, I wouldn't have shown as much restraint as those officers since I now have little patience for dog misbehavior. I didn't like the comment about "shot for less". A gun is a weapon to be used when a weapon is needed, and when a weapon is needed it is certianly not "less" than a bumper getting chewed.
