My cat was still a young not-quite-kitten-anymore when I got an N64 back in the day -- playing Mario 64, he would attack the screen quite regularly. It was the only thing on TV he ever responded to though. I don't know if it was something about the colors, or the sounds, but something certainly made him interested.
