Looking for good sprite based PS1 games

I'm looking for some good sprite based PS1 games. Anyone got any recommendations?

(Please avoid recommending Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, or anything that was originally on the SNES)

There is Lunar 2 Eternal Blue. I hear it's pretty good. I never got around to play it though.

Sprite-based... hmm...

Not sure if it's the kind of thing you're looking for, but I would recommend Valkyrie Profile, hands down. Good luck getting your hands on it, though. o.o;

How about Legend of Mana? It's a Seiken Densetsu game. But it's no SNES port. Good luck finding it though.

I second the Lunar series. Both are fully sprite based (with anime cutscenes!) and are amazing.

I also would like to add the first Wild ARMs game. The second has character sprites but polygon backgrounds, so I dunno if it would count.

Oh, yeah, and the battle screens for the first Wild ARMs are polygon too, but the maps and all are sprites.

I am also looking for some non-rpg stuff. If anyone knows of any good sprite based non rpg PS1 games? I'm really trying to find out what I missed out on by not owning a PS1 until late in it's lifespan. By the time I got my hands on it, the 3D rush had already begun.

Heard of Vandal-Hearts? It's an RTS game and it's rated M but it would be T by now. There's a lot of blood/gore but it's in sprite form and it looks really non-graphic. I think Vandal-Hearts, Vandal-Hearts II, and Hoshigami (I don't think you can find it though) are good RTS sprite games for the PS1.

And GTA 1. But that's rated M...However, it would be T now as well. It's entirely in birds-eye view from the top and 2D.
