World of Tanks.

While I wish I could run this thing at higher rez, in a weird way I think it's a more realistic experience this way. XD

I just finished every story except the hero's. I'm in that one right now and all I have left to do is transform him to rank 3, get Leafeon and Arceus, and then Rayquaza, and I will officially have completed it 100%.

It was a great game, but it needed more to do. I'm hoping the sequel will be even better.

Good to see I'm not the only one. I plan on getting Platinum.

Used my Christmas break to finish playing Romancing SaGa and Final Fantasy IX. These are pretty much opposite in several ways, despite the fact that they are both RPGs made by Square.

Played through the campaign on Halo 4.

It's all gotten a bit silly if you ask me. I have a long rambling list of complaint about where the series as gone but since I don't play it online most of them are probably irrelevant.

FINALLY finished Final Fantasy 13
I know I should have finished a long time ago, but I thought I was just under-leveled... I was just using the wrong groups. I changed my tactic and finished the battle much quicker, I didn't even realize I could do it that easily.

I think I'll play... sonic advanced or something, it may be a nice thing to play after a grindfest game like that.

I played a whole bunch of games over Christmas break:

Ever 17 - Finished this and got a good You ending, finally >_> I'll go back eventually and try for the other three (four?) endings, but for now I'm just kind of tired of the story.

Penumbra: Black Plague - Also finished this terrifying game *happy shudder* Excellent end to the game, freaky all the way through. Well...I guess the last little section wasn't that scary, since it was so well-lit and you kind of knew what was going on finally. But I had a couple more major leap-out-of-my-seat moments, so all in all it was fun.

Penumbra: Requiem - This is just a tacked-on epilogue to the story, not really necessary but nice to go through some more puzzles. And even though there aren't any enemies, I still got a few shocks.

Grim Fandango - Weird, weird game, with a really morbid/gross sense of humor, but I really liked it. Quite witty, and just so unique. The gameplay was absolutely awful, though. Yuck. And most of the puzzles were impossible to figure out without a walkthrough *has been spoiled by the logical, if intensely challenging puzzles of Myst*

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time - I played through this with my sisters to introduce them to the story. Ahhhh, I love this game so much <3 This is probably my seventh time through, that's how much I love it. It's just so much fun to play, and the story is so good!

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - I had to really cram on this towards the end of break since it's a 35-45 hour game, but I got it done the day before I had to come back to school. It was fun enough to play - I was fine with the increased motion sensitivity, but the sensitivity of Twilight Princess would've been fine too. And as usual, the new gadgets are really interesting. The only bits of the gameplay I didn't really like were the harp (BRING BACK THE OCARINA ALREADY!!!!!!!! :mutter: ), and that there's not the ease of Z-targeting to shoot at an enemy like there used to be (can't remember if Twilight Princess had the same problem or not). The music was also mediocre, as is to be expected, but I was a bit surprised they didn't bring back any of the classic songs except for Zelda's Lullaby (unless I'm forgetting something...?). Still, not quite as disappointing as Twilight Princess's was. Storywise, Skyward Sword was about comparable to Skyward Sword, and I had fun noticing similarities to Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, especially, with a few dabs of Ocarina of Time and the allusion to the very first Zelda game. Oh, and I never found Navi annoying anyway, but Fi is 10000000000000 times more annoying than Navi ever was *stabs her repeatedly, which would be kind of hard since she's a sword but never mind*

So yeah. There were some really cool and fun bits in Skyward Sword (I wish every last battle could be as epic as the one against Demise), but I think this game has basically spelled the end to my Zelda fandom. I still love the potential of Zelda, and the legendary feel of some of the older games, but I won't go out of my way to play any more of the games unless I hear a really convincing argument that they've managed to make the next Ocarina of Time. (Nah, they probably won't ever manage that. The next Link to the Past, then.)

Also replaying Chrono Cross since I bought it off PSN. Ugh this game's story is awful, but I like playing it anyway.

This rebel stronghold has no hope of escape. Commence the attack. (I'm actually playing the Collector's Edition.)

This along with KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords (With the Restored Content Mod) are the only two good Star Wars games out there.

Eh, I still think the games with Kyle Katarn were pretty good. Dark Forces, was it? I loved the cheat codes, especially the "realistic saber combat" command.

Kingdom Hearts 3DS.

The drop system is annoying sometimes but the bosses are some of the best in the game series...except for one world.

If they don't bring back the system of allowing you to choose who is in your party or if they don't bring back the dream eaters I may end up hating this game. Meow Wow is epicnesh.

Recently finished playing through Metroid II, my first ever Metroid game. I've heard some people consider this the weakest of the 2D Metroid titles, but it had great, precise controls, abilities (spider ball, space jump, etc.) that were fun to use, and it was simply an all-around very enjoyable game. I haven't played many games in this genre and don't have much to compare it to, but I felt that the smoothness and agility of Samus's movements made the game a real pleasure to play. I wasn't too fond of the lack of music in most of the caverns, though I understand the rationale behind it, but I love the surface music, and the game also has several effectively creepy pieces, especially towards the end.

At some point I'll probably want to replay this game to get a faster time. Certainly it's enjoyable enough to warrant at least a few replays. I'd also love to play some other Metroid titles, but since this one is the only one I own, that will have to go on hold for a while.

Recently I've been trying to play Iji, a free indie action platform shooter; it has some serious compatibility issues with anything newer than Windows XP and in particular with 64-bit systems, apparently, which has caused me major frustration.

Nevertheless, when I can coax Windows 7 into playing it properly it's a great game. Probably the first thing one notices when starting the game is its low-quality graphics, but after my first few minutes of playing the game I completely ceased to pay any attention to that because the gameplay is so much fun. The mechanics are simple and easy to use, and there's quite a variety of things you can do, like kicking down doors and enemies, using computer cracking skills to open locks and create illegal weapon combinations, cracking enemies' nanofields (which defeats them or disables some of their weapons, depending on the strength of the enemy), reflecting enemies' projectiles back at them, and so on. There's also a bit of an RPG element in that every time Iji levels up you can choose which of her seven stats you want to power up, which means you have complete control over her growth.

One of the ways in which this game really shines is the way that enemies' reactions to your character, the text in certain logbooks, and cutscene dialogues actually change depending on your playing style--people react differently to you based on whether you go through shooting everyone in your path or play as a pacifist (leveling-up is not dependent on killing enemies, so it's totally possible to level up normally in a pacifist run). There are also lots of hidden things to find, four different difficulty settings (Normal, Hard, Exteme, Ultimortal), and all sorts of extras that can be unlocked by beating the game in each of the different settings or by acquiring certain in-game abilities. Naturally, all of this gives the game tons of replay value.

Currently I've played through one more-or-less pacifistic game on Normal (the game considers you pacifistic if you kill less than five enemies per sector). One character commented on my kill count by saying that she would have respected me more if I had not killed a single enemy; that and finding out that it is possible to go through the game with a kill count of zero made me want to do so, so that's what I'm doing right now on Hard. There are some pretty big rewards for playing as a pacifist, so I suspect the game might actually be easier if you're doing a pacifist run, but since I haven't played any non-pacifistic runs yet I can't really say for sure.

As a final note, it has an absolutely rocking soundtrack.

I just beat Neverwinter Nights *probably spoilers*. First of all: what a dumb game. The entire campaign seems to be a great big "look! We did this all with the program we included!" type thing. Which itself isn't so bad, since the Aurora Toolset is pretty cool, but they could have hired some competant writers to come up with a better story.

First of all, you don't even know what the hell is going on until about the fourth chapter. The game drops plausable storylines every other quest, and there are no "plot twists", just annoying "plot changes". In the beginning, characters so obviously evil will betray you - you'll wonder how someone so completely tansparent got hired to guard the great big hullabalou treasures in the first place, and about three quarters into the game someone betrays you, and you spend the rest of the game muttering to yourself "no, that didn't happen, they have to come up with something better than that...".

By the fourth chapter (or very late into the third) you finally realize what the heck is going on. The ending story is not terribly bad...in fact, it could have passed for a good story, if you had been aware of it sooner in the game. I'm not saying they should have thrown it in your face as "THIS IS THE MAIN PLOT STORY", but to make you go on quest after quest after quest with no idea what's going on for three chapters, it was just plain stupid.

Don't even get me started on the bugs in the game.

The fourth chapter isn't that bad, though it is terribly short. In fact, Chapter 4 could probably be completed in ten minutes if you knew exactly where to go.

Meh.
