Final Fantasy 7, Advent Children

I've recently acquired a new interest in the Final Fantasy games. I've never played(or even watched) a game, nor have I seen the movie(or movies, however many there are). But I've gained my interest from all the good things I've heard about it and the fact that it has a strong story behind it(or so I've been told).

I heard there is a new Final Fantasy called Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. And I just wanted some information on this game and your opinions of it.

So here are some of my questions...

1. Has it been released in the US as of yet?

2. Is it only available on the Play Station 2 or is it available on other game systems also?

3. Is this game actually worth my time?

4. What are your personal opinions on it?

First off there's a big thread on this in this forum.

Advent Children should be released spring 2005 I believe in the US. Advent Children is actually a movie "sequel" to Final Fantasy 7. It will come out in two formats DVD obviously and UMD for the PSP.

Final Fantasy is the epitome of good console RPG's that says it all. Final Fantasy is undoubtedly the most popular in the series. You've been missing out alot if you haven't played them. Heck you could pick up a used Playstation for 25 bucks or less somewhere and Final Fantasy 7-9 for the same price. Final Fantasy 6 (3 in the US) might of molded Final Fantasy into what it is today, but 7 got the attention of a mainstream audience with it's awesome graphics, story, and gameplay. Not to mention it was the first Final Fantasy released on Playstation and the first since the SNES days with 6. About the Final Fantasy movie Spirit's Within...I wouldn't reccomend it as it has very little if nothing to do with Final Fantasy. But it does have good eye candy. So there ya go.

Advent Children is not yet realeased in Japan or the US. It was orginaly suppose to be out in the fall but the date was pushed back. It will still be out before 2005. (Seven years after the game- what a coinsidence)

Actually AC is a movie. It will be 80-90 minutes long. You can view the trailers at the official site in Square Enix.

All major character have been confirmed EXCEPT Cait Sith (as when we have seen them all in graphics). The TURKS are back but we have not seen Elena.

Three are three new bad guys, names-ages-and personalities have been revealed.

Other info: AC takes TWO years after METEOR. Star scar Syndrome (dubbed into Geostigma) has been spreading throughout Gaia (the new official name of the world). Though it mostle affects the children.

Cloud is back after two years of wandering alone, sporting a new outfit. Actaualy they all do except Vincent (was was officially labeled immortal- probably meaning he can't age). New characters: Besides the three new bad guys, a new orphan that Tifa takes care of, Denzel. Ther is a mysterious guy in a wheelchair covered by a white robe. Marlene has also been seen and probably will play a big role.

Can't you tell I'm excited?
