The Raccoon. Being able to fly is soo cheap in some of those original games. You can just sail over all the guys to the end of the level. :3

I like the Super shroom! Ya know, The one that makes mario a giant. Then he can just run the flag over at the end.
Go go Mario!

QFT.

Although Hammer Mario was good, too.

He can fly AND run super fast. His bull cap was awsome too, with stunning enemies by stomping and/or one hitting them by stomping^^

Metal Mario from SM64.

Well, I loved the music that went with the suit most I suppose. But I had this sense of glee running over every enemy without getting damaged.

The true magnificence of the Jet Cap comes from defeating the final boss with it. Because when the game developers clearly set up a specific (and decidedly tricky) route for you to take, it's awesome to screw them over with your own morally ambiguous method.

Been a while since I played the last bit of it (traded it into EB but played half of it on rom not too long ago). The last boss IS pretty easy and I beat him plenty of times... don't remmeber what cap I was even wearing but I don't think I took the "special" route (in fact I never did end up finding all the keys/doors to the gems... I searched everywhere >_<)
Still, it was a pretty awsome game^^ The other 2 Warios weren't as great, having ailments instead of power ups which can/cannot help you to your advantage :/ Well, at least for me they got a little annoying and were tricky at times^^

Found all the treasures, and with the help of a cheat code, collected 99,999 coins. For all that effort, you get planet. Ambitious little tyrant.

Personally, I love all the Wario Land titles, and I'm wishing for the day Nintendo stops churningo out Wario Ware and returns to his true heritage with Wario Land 5.

Raccoon and Cape are good, because increased maneuverability is a great asset in a platformer. But since Hammer is on the list, I'll vote for it. Very rare, kills nearly anything, triggers a pointless random event if you can beat a world with it... what's not to like?

While there is something to be said for beating it the normal way, flipping that lamp repeatedly can get annoying and it is decidedly cathartic to waste him with the Jet Cap.

Well, his power to sell most things with his name/visage on them for the past 26 years is pretty impressive, but I'd have to say I am a fan of the Metal and Wing Caps, myself. If I had a cap that allowed me to fly or turn into a full-metal version of myself, I'd wear it every day, with everything.

Definitely Kuribo's shoe. Next is Racoon followed closely by Tanooki, Frog, and hammer. Notice how all of these are from Super Mario 3.

Mario 3 was great. As for power-ups, I can't decide! Between tanuki, P-wing, hammer, and the shoe...

Man, I voted on this a while back, but I never posted, and now I can't remember what I voted.

I would say that I like Mario's ability to play any sport, drive go karts, party hardy, save the world (and the princess), and even do a little plumbing in his free time. =D
