Summer Work

Postby cbwing0 » Tue May 25, 2004 3:37 pm

This is both a prayer request and a praise.

After job hunting for a couple of weeks, I was able to find a summer job to keep me occupied for the summer. Thankfully it is full time, and pays well. Despite the tough job market, the Lord has provided, and I am thankful for that. :)

Now the prayer request. Tonight is my first night at the new job. It is a night job, and I will be working from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday-Thursday. I have never worked nights before, so please pray for me to adjust without too much difficulty. Also, pray that I would perform my duties with excellence and dilligence, brining glory to God as I work.

And I thought my hours were rough! I'll definitely pray for you.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of job is it?

Thanks for the prayers. Here is an update for those who asked:

It turned out that I was training on 1st shift to work on 3rd. :red: So I showed up at the wrong time last night! Fortunately they understood, and I went to work today on 1st shift. I will move to 3rd shift on June 6 after I am finished with training.

The job itself is loading boxes onto trucks. It is physically demanding, which I like. It is also simple, so there aren't too many things that can go wrong. :thumb:

At any rate the pay is good, so I don't have to do it for the whole summer.

Thanks again for the prayers...I'll need them when I actually move to 3rd shift. :)

I will definitely pray for you. My husband used to do a similar job when he was your age, and I know it will also help you stay in shape. Remember, bend your knees when lifting. *hehe* I hope you the best, cb. ^_^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Oooh, excellent CB! Yes, finding a job is hard. I've failed in every attempt in the past 2 years. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.

At any rate, I have some more material for the Omegaea... *snicker*
