*sighs*...college

So...I'm taking a STATS class (statistics). Being an art major, it's not my best subject. Though I can be good at it at times, math isn't neccesarily my favorite thing to do. (We consider eachother rivals/mortal enemies.) So, I got a 63% on my midterm (which is a D), but my teacher said I could do any 7 questions at home (from my book) to gain that credit up to a 70%. I'm thinking about going the extra mile though and try to do at least 10...maybe even more if I'm determined enough and still have some juice left in me. The grade still has me a bit...down and grey though. :sniffle: Can you guys pray that I can get this task done and done well, as well as pass my STATS class so that I won't have to take it again. As a matter of fact, if I get this math class done, I won't have to do any math for the rest of my college years. (long story, but it's true.) I'd really appreciate any prayers guys. Really, even though I don't know a lot of you personally, you guys are pretty awesome and encouraging people. So, thanks in advance for all the love you share. :)

As a fellow art student and official hater of math, I'll definitely keep you in my prayers! I had to take a basic college algebra course twice because I made a D the first time--the teacher taught SO quickly though! XD Anyways, math is the worst, and I will definitely be praying that you finish this class well!

Shall be praying. I am not at all math-efficient, either, and I had to take on Stats due to my Psych degree (as opposed to the other, simpler, math course) and I got it done and passed this past semester and never have to take another math course in my college (at least, Bachelor's) career, either. You can do it! Keep up the hard work!

I'll pray for you.

Yeah, math can be pretty tough. I had to take all my high school math courses online. That about killed me, but it did prepare me for College math, so I guess you could call it a blessing in disguise.

I'm sure you'll do fine if you stay on top of it. :)

Hey, what d'you know- I'm taking a stats class right now, too. Sucks the life right out of you. Our professor joked that it ought to be called "sadistics", and... it's not too far from the truth.

Math isn't my best subject either- but the concepts make sense alright. Not finished with the course, we're just getting into t-curves, but if there's something you're having trouble understanding feel free to shoot me a PM. Maybe we can struggle through it together, ha!

It sounds like you have an understanding, kind professor to help you. You've got my prayers going for you, too. Don't be too afraid of the math. You have the willpower to do well, and I bet you will. You kick those normal curves where it hurts!

Oh, good ol Stats. I had to take both a stats class and an experimental psychology class (where it was a lot more stats. Sadface).

Maybe it's time to visit your school's local tutoring center? Losing a few hours a week in tutoring is definitely better than failing a class and having to retake it.

I am not very math-minded at all --I really struggle in that area. So, even though I am in a science-related area of study, stats and I were not friends (my stats class was a grad-student version that I took 2 semesters ago --no fun.)

But, hey, I met with my prof in his office several times to go over the material/figure out what I didn't understand, and I passed with a B!

You can do it! :D

Are you using any programs (we used one called SPSS) or are you doing all the calculations by hand?

Thanks guys. :) And yeah, all the calculations are by hand.^^; I have a calculator on my cell phone that I can use. It's a one day a week class though, and I only have a couple of classes until the final. O___O And also, thank you guys for the advice and prayers. I really appreciate all of it. :D
