Baptism

I've never been baptized, even though I want to. Partly because after I became a christian, I didn't really tell anyone, because I thought my family had kind of assumed I was a christian all along. It was just around four years ago that I decided I wanted to get Baptized. I don't believe Baptism is necessary for salvation, but I believe it's important because I see it as a way of declaring what I believe
Well...The problem is, We don't have a pastor at our church. It's non-denominational, and Elder-led. So I'm not sure who would baptize me. Then, there's the fact that I'm not really close with any of the adults in my church. I don't even know all their names, even though we have less than 50 people! I am friendly with some of them, but not really on the spiritual level.
I just...really don't seem to have the courage to ask. I just don't. Please, can you pray that somehow, that I will be able to find the courage I need to do whatever it takes to actually start talking? Thank you very much ^_^
(I'm such a coward:bang:)

In Biblical times, the person that introduced you to God and/or was with you at the moment of Salvation would baptise you then as fast as they could so how about one of your parents do it?

And you are not, you're great, it's just a difficult thing to tell people

I'll definitely pray for you! Hopefully you can get up the courage to ask someone, and hopefully they'll work something out for you. :3 I got baptized in a backyard pool. XD We don't have a baptism pool in our church building so a regular pool had to do. It'd be a good time of year for it! Don't get baptized in a backyard pool in January though...I have a feeling it wouldn't be so pleasant. :p

I'd take Nate's word on that, I doubt it'd be a fun experience (maybe for story sake...)

Praying! I think if you talked to your parents about it, they would be thrilled that you're asking. You don't necessarily need to tell them why, but definitely tell them that you'd like to, and that you'd be honored if they'd do it/take part in it.

Praying. Remember, Philip baptized the Ehtiopian eunuch along the side of the road; Peter baptized Cornelius and the members of his household right at their house! You need not be too concerned about formalities.

I think it would be wonderful if a member of your family participated in your baptism.

Yeah, I once watched a friend get baptized in a fountain at midnight. XD

I myself was baptized in a regular baptismal by my first youth minister before he left the church. (We knew he was leaving - thus why a small group of us wanted him to baptize us before he left) and I hardly knew him!

Praying for you! Baptism is pretty exciting!

I'll be praying for you too! :) I was baptized in the ocean, so... yeah, lol Good old mother nature provides plenty of places to dunk unless you're land locked. :D

I talked to my mom and she says it would be all right if her of my dad baptized me. I also could have just a few of my christian friends there. So, that's good. Although I am considering having it as a church event, but I don't really want it to be a big fuss.
I want to be baptized in the river going through my town though(It's known to have clean water)....because I always think Baptized=in river Jordan XD
So....thank you everyone ^_^

Back in July 2006 when I asked Jesus to come into my heart I had the urge to baptize myself afterwards. I didn't though, and to this day I wonder if I should have, because I still run into people who tell me I am NOT saved, due to not being baptized. I'm not saying YOU HAVE TO get baptized, but if it's something in that you feel in your heart you should do, go for it :-)
