Alas, Valentines Day draws near. Please pray for me. One of my best friends is a girl from Peru who I love so much. You may not believe me because I am only seventeen but God can see whats in my heart and it is true. I don't love her for her pretty face or who she could be, its the kind of person she is. She is the sweetest and most kind hearted person I know. Why am I not good enough for her?

I don't know if you are for each other or not, but the idea of not being good enough is all wrong. You are good enough for God... It's just a matter of finding the right person, or just the right time.

I feel your pain man.... not only did my wife walk out on our marriage and divorce me years go, even after God did some healing and it looked like we where on the track to reconsile she went and found someone else and married him.
Wouldn't hurt so bad if she wasn't following God, but in the end it seems like I wasn't worth the same effort of someone she's only known about a year.
I just keep trying to remind myself that my self-worth isn't based on others opinions.... doesn't seem to help the here and now feelings though... so I keep praying and trying to look to God on it.
I can honestly say that I haven't disliked Valentines day in such a long, long time.

I believe your are sincere in your feelings. Go ahead and pray about it, and if it's a go, make them known on V-day. If she shoots you down, don't sweat it. One more thing, if she is not a Christian, I wouldn't pursue any relationship with her beyond a simple friendship.

but if he did get a relationship beyond a simple friendship, and she wasn't a christian he could help her reallize that Jesus is her savior. He be the one to help save her from eternity in Hell. I would be a good oportunity to minister to some one.

... or, she could dilute his ability to maintain *His* relationship with Christ. We already had a discussion here about why missionary dating is not a good idea, but I think Michi...er, Mave said it best: it's easier to make someone take a step down than a step up. If you're giving yourself heart and soul to someone who doesn't have Jesus at their centre, then neither will the relationship and neither will the life you have together.
I'll dig up the old thread and post the link in here, since it had some good thoughts in it.
