uh, i just came up with this dilemma.

i have seen the matrix and it's sequel, reloaded. however, there are scenes which conflict with my beliefs. my question then is this: would it be wrong to edit those films (i have a video editing program) and keep the edited versions? on one side i feel it's still wrong. on the other, i feel that since the offensive scenes are deleted, it's ok. please pray for me so that God would make this clear to me. However, i would still like your advice- you all may give me an insight to this problem.

thanks and God bless.

First off, we'll deffinately pray that God will grant you the wisdom you are seeking!

As for advice, hmm. I'd like to see some research on this one myself - though I don't think it would be a problem legally, if that's what you are wondering. I suspect, however, that you are really asking if it would be right or ok. Unfortunately, that's something everyone has to figure out on their own. My rule of thumb is that if you are uncomfortable with the movie in general, I'd just stay away from it. If you are uncomfortable with the scenes, perhaps you can try the editing project you are talking about. However, I would caution you against distributing your "censored" version of the movie, as that would quickly fall under the category of "Not Legal."

Edit: "...figure out on their own" should actaully be translated to "figure out by listening to what God tells them is cool for them."
