I just found out this morning that a church that I work with the youth at, there pastor passed on this morning in his sleep. This comes as a shock as he was only in his early 60s. Prayer for the family and church congregation would be apprecaited.

I'll pray as well. That has got to be rough on the family and church. But it sounds like he went out without suffering. Now he is in home in heaven and while he will be greatly missed down here, one day his family will join him again, and there will be no more tears.
Tears Will Never Stain the Streets
~ Walt Mills
If I could count all the tears that have fallen
It would seem like an ocean to me.
If my heart were a window you could look through
Oh the pain and scars you would see.
But tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreath of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren't welcome beyond the gates of Glory
And the heart will never break anymore.
I've never met one man without sorrow
And I've never looked into eyes with no pain.
But I know a land where grief is a stranger
And joy is the only song they sing.
I have questioned the loss of a loved one
When the pain seems so final and cold.
But we'll meet again in a land where death has no victory
And we'll never grow old.
And tears will never stain the streets of that city
No wreath of death on my mansion door.
Teardrops aren't welcome beyond the gates of Glory
And the heart will never break anymore.
No, the heart will never break anymore.
"Father, I pray for the family and for the church. That you will be with them and confort them. Help them through this rough time. Amen."

Sorry to hear that. It must be hard for a church to loose its pastor. I will surely be praying for both the congregation and his family.

Thanks everyone...I have not heard from my friend yet...so I still have no idea what killed the Pastor. If I had to venture a guess I would say it was his heart...but I really have no idea. Thanks to everyone for holding the family and church up right now.

Just thought I would leave a note about this. I just got in from an evening service over at that church. Things are of course very emotional right now...its never easy to lose someone you love and care about, when they are the shepard its even harder. One of the Pastors old friends, another Pastor himself, has taken over for the time being I guess. It was beautiful seeing the church continue on with things though, singing the songs they always sang....You knew they were hurting...but they respected the Pastors passing enough to know its what he would have wanted. Its been a while since I have been to such a powerful moving service. Again I thank everyone who is praying for the Pastors Wife at this time...I think she has the worst part of anyone.

I am still praying for them. I know how hard lose like these can be. My father, who is a minister, just had to watch a man pass away this weekend. The man was dying of Cancer and when my Dad was asked to go and see him, the man could hardly talk. His wife wanted my father to share the gospel with this man and help him become saved before he died. My Dad tried to reach the man but the man could not respond because of the effects of the cancer. My Dad still doesn’t know if the man accepted Christ in his heart or if he dyed without having accepted. The man could not reveal one-way or the other. It is one thing to lose a loved one who is a Christian. They will be truly missed, but because they were a Christian, they are in heaven now and we will see them again. But to watch someone go and not now if they are saved is truly worse. Because we may not see them ever again. I shall continue to pray for the family and the church, I hope they are finding comfort in the fact that they will see him again.
God Bless

One of the biggest bummers of this situation so far....for one guy. The asst Pastor. He had his cellphone turned off Tuesday afternoon. When he turned it back on, he had missed 3 calls from the Pastor. Granted these things happen...and he had no way of knowing...but thats rough...I know I would feel really bad about missing those calls.
