Teacher dying from cancer

Postby Golden_Griff » Fri Nov 26, 2004 6:07 pm

Hey all,

My mom was just talking to me about the condition of my kindergarten teacher who has cancer. She said that the doctors don't expect her to live much longer, maybe 2 or 3 more days. I'm not sure what to think. I don't want to say that she's dying and just accept it because I feel like I'm not having faith but then again maybe it's just "her time."

It's hard to understand how God works. His plan is perfect, though. I'm so sorry about your teacher. I will pray.
Sometimes we may get angry with God for "letting" things happen to us, but it's normal to feel upset, just realize that there's nothing a simple human can do to try to sway the Lord from his perfect plan. Perhaps it was her time. I don't know, but I'll have you in my thoughts, Griff.

Well you guys, I learned that she died today around one o'clock. But God is still good. I just hope her soul is with Jesus.

Umm, I don't really know how old she was but she's probably no older than 60.

This whole ordeal is a little shocking to me because when I was doing volunteer work at my elementary school this summer she looked just fine to me. Then again a lot can happen in 6 months...

My high school English teacher died of ovarian cancer relatively early (mid 50s), so I know the feeling. I indeed hope that she's with Christ in heaven as well.

Does she have any family? If so, I'll pray for them as well as you.

I don't know much about her family life but I do know she has a daughter, so I'm almost certain that she needs some comfort through all of this.
