choosing a major

I have a problem. I attend Texas State and currently a sophomore. The reason I'm writing this is because I am having great difficulty on deciding what i should major in. I pick one thing, then tell myself that's not for me and choose another. I just don't know. Currently I am thinking of majoring in Education and then get a minor such as kinesiology and/or something in the computer field. I was wondering if y'all could pray that I figure out what i want to do. I feel that time is running out and I'm just so confused. I just don't know what to do. I'm going to talk to an advisor tomorrow or Monday to get some info to see if education is really what I want to do. Please pray that i can figure something out. Thanks.

You're not alone, man. Lots of people change their majors several times in their college careers, but I know that doesn't make it any easier. If it's any comfort, lots of people end up working in fields that have nothing to do with their major... so whatever major you choose won't necessarily determine the course of the rest of your life. Many employers these days just want to know that you have a college education.
Lord, I pray that You give agasfas clear direction in choosing a major, and more importantly, that You give him peace. Help the advisor to advise well, and give agasfas wisdom and guidance for what to do next.

Also, be sure to research the various areas of study that you might be interested and see what types of jobs could be involved. Go to the Department of Labor's website (labor.gov), and look for the Occupational Outlook Handbook; it's a really good guide to the job market throughout the country.
I'll pray for you!

I don't know if TSU offers anything like this, but UH offers a testing center to help you figure out what kind of things you're good at or should consider for a major. Perhaps you could see if they offer something like this? I will of course be praying too---I'm in college right now too and I know exactly that unnerving anxiety about chosing a major. I'm not sure what I'm in right now is *the* degree, but you know what? It's ok. God knows what degree I need, and He'll show me. I don't think He'd let me graduate with the wrong one, you know? But again, I'll be praying.

Yeah actually Texas State does offer those kinds of tests. Perhaps I need to look into that on Monday... Great Idea!
Although I have faith that God will lead me through college with the right degree that is suited for me. I'm just so anxious what awaits me in the future. I wouldn't like paying for classes that I dont need for my major, that wouldn't be good
.
I really appreciate everyones support. Y'all made me feel more at ease/settled and confident that God will show me what is right for me. Also, i would like to return the prayer to anyone else that may have confusion about what major they want to get or what awaits them later in life. Again, thanks.

Yeah, you can pray for me too. I posted a thread on 'College/Career advice' a while ago. Thanks for the prayers all.
