A friend who tried to commit suicide

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Mon Nov 01, 2004 8:42 pm

Im gonna leave this as general as possible, becase my friend asked not to really tell people about it in detail. A friend of mine tried to commit suicide, and was in the hospital. Pray that God will be with this person and that my friend doens't do this again.

hey i know what you're going thru. my friend's friend that i started to become friends with tried to kill himself. he slit his rists and left them in warm water and was left there for five to six hours. God was really with him cuz the paramedics pronounced him dead but he lived after they got him in the er. he's starting to believe in God but he's gay. i know God is working on him. this really hit my friend who is the one who introde this guy to me. she was about to kill herself. last time i saw her she had scars on her wrists and i heard that she now lives in Las Vegas. i'm scared for her. i'll pray for you and your friend.
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things... hey... the good things don't always soften the bad things; but vice-versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." -11th Doctor

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

sorry to hear that. I hope your friend will be able to get the help he needs. It's really sad to see teens go about promblems that way. I pray that God will be able to help and guide him.

I will pray as well.

Two of my friends have been in that demon's grasp. Not sure about their condition. One used to talk to me a lot - and I tried to comfort her as well as I could (and praying of course) but she'd been into witchcraft so I tried to be as careful (as in asking God's protection and covering) as I could when I did. I think the witchcraft may have had something to do with her deep depression (not saying it's related to every depression, just that I think it may have been related to hers). Recently she's closed off and it looks like she's turning to alchohol, smoking and drugs.

The other has major, major medical issues and illnesses all at once. Not sure about all of them, but many are in the fibromialgia (including that illness) category, if you've heard of it. Plus more. She lost contact with her friends and that must have spiralled her down ever lower. I still keep in contact with her, though it's hard because all her free time is spent in resting from her latest treatment at the moment. Still I'm going to write to her to let her know she's loved. Not sure if she's a Christian or not - not very open to that topic of conversation... but I think she's at least close to becoming one.

So please remember them in a prayer, too.

I entrust them into God's care - he loves them much more than I ever could because he is _God_ and has much more at stake than I do (also because he is _God_ and loves so aweinspiringly).

I'll pray for the protection against evil influences on your friend. Man, we're really into some serious spiritual warfare. But have faith, we're on the winning side. Let's keep fighting!
