Trip to PA/Team Training

Postby Sheenar » Mon Jun 06, 2011 10:14 pm

Well, the time is almost here! I leave on Saturday morning to fly to PA to go through team training with my new service dog!

Please pray that everything will go smoothly travel-wise and that I'll be able to leave the situations that are going on here (my HMO about has me pulling my hair out in frustration --long story, but in short, they're not looking out for me as a patient and are preventing me from getting the care I need) and be able to focus on the training with Leon.

Something is wrong with my cat Marzipan. I decreased her food on the suggestion of my vet and she's still gaining weight. She's also begun throwing up her kibble in the past 2 weeks --I've been having to soak it in water first so that she keeps it down. She's been acting more stressed than normal. I am worried about her. Ran tests at the vet, but they don't know what's going on.
My roommates are going to be looking after her while I'm gone, so at least I know she'll be in good hands. I just hope nothing happens while I'm out of state.

Yeah, so I'm really excited about going to PA for the 3 weeks of training. I just hope I can leave all the worries of home behind when I go so I can focus on bonding with my new partner and learning to work together. I am so stoked to have a dog again! :D

For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

That's so exciting! Have a wonderful time in PA :) I'll be praying for the team training and travel and Marzipan (cutest name for a cat, BTW).

The Holy Father Pope Frances is asking people of all faiths to join together This Saturday, September 7. on the vigil of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary – for a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria.

Novena to the Most Powerful Hand
I place my Christian soul before Thee, and in my despair and anguish, beseech Thee to bring
the most powerful strength of Thy Helping Hand to come to my rescue. I place the devotion
of my sorrowful heart at Thy feet that I may be pardoned from a
destiny of suffering. May the loving kindness of Thy Sacred Heart
and the wonders of Thy Powerful Hand help me and give me strength and
wisdom to live in peace and happiness. Amen.

Thanks! Things are going well! We are now 2 weeks into Team Training!

Leon is such a sweet dog. Very smart. We are working really well together! He walks so smoothly in harness and I'm much less fatigued when walking with him!

Leon and I passed our final exam today! We are now officially a service dog team! :D

We graduate from Canine Partners for Life on Sunday and leave to go home to TX on Monday. :)
